The sliding doors earn their keep in Chaweng. In a tight beach-road car park a hinged rear door opens perhaps 30 centimetres before it hits the next car, which is not enough to get a toddler into a child seat; a sliding door does not care. The compromise is ground clearance - the Sienta sits no higher than a sedan, so hill villa driveways are the same problem they are for a hatchback. With all seven seats up there is room for shopping and soft bags, not suitcases.

Seven can sit in it, but the third row is realistically for children or short journeys. Five adults plus two children is the comfortable maximum. For seven adults, take a Toyota Innova or an SUV.
Is there luggage space with all seven seats in use?
Very little - enough for a few soft bags and shopping. With the third row folded flat you get a genuinely large, low-floored boot that will take two large suitcases and a pram.
Why choose a Sienta over an SUV on Koh Samui?
