MPVs for rent on Koh Samui

An MPV gives you the same seven seats as an SUV with far better access and a lower floor, at the cost of ground clearance. For families moving in and out of the car a dozen times a day, it is usually the better tool.

  • ฿1,400-฿2,300 per day

How many people and bags actually fit

Seven seatbelts reached through sliding rear doors and over a low, flat floor - the easiest access of anything we rent, and the only cars here you can get a child seat into in a tight Chaweng car park. Luggage behind a raised third row is shopping and soft bags, with one exception: the Toyota Innova still takes three large cases with all seven seats occupied, which is why it is the airport-transfer choice. The Toyota Sienta's third row is for children rather than adults. Infant, child and booster seats are available on every model here and fitted before delivery if you tell us the ages at booking.

Who this suits

Best for families with young children and car seats, for groups travelling with older passengers who would rather step in than climb up, and for anyone doing a lot of short hops between beaches, restaurants and night markets. It is also a sensible long-stay choice for a resident family: the sliding doors and the flat floor stop being a novelty and start being the reason the school run takes five minutes less.

MPVs on Koh Samui roads

The low floor and sliding doors are genuinely useful on Samui, where you will park nose-to-tail on soft sand shoulders and in narrow soi. In a tight beach-road car park a hinged rear door opens perhaps 30 centimetres before it touches the next car, which is not enough to get a toddler into a child seat; a sliding door does not care. The catch is clearance - MPVs sit no higher than a sedan, so the same steep villa driveways that trouble a hatchback will trouble these. If you are staying up a hill and need seven seats, take an SUV instead. On the flat coastal strip, an MPV is the more comfortable choice by a distance.

Choosing between them

The Toyota Sienta is the smallest and cheapest, and the only one here that still parks like a compact car - treat the third row as occasional and child-sized. The Toyota Veloz is the middle option with a proper adult third row and the most modern equipment. The Toyota Innova is the biggest and most durable, with real luggage space behind the third row, and it is the one to pick for an airport arrival with a full load. Sand and beach dust in the footwells are expected in all of them and never charged for - we only pass on a cleaning cost if a car needs specialist work, and we show you the invoice first.

What every MPV & minivan rental includes

  • Comprehensive first-class insurance with Collision Damage Waiver on every car. Your liability is capped at the deposit, and the deposit is stated on the model page before you book.
  • Unlimited mileage. The odometer is photographed at both ends of the rental as part of the condition record, never as the basis for a distance charge.
  • Fuel is full to full. If it comes back short we charge pump price for the difference and nothing else - no service fee, no prepaid tank to decline.
  • No cleaning fee for the sand, dust and damp towels of ordinary island use. Specialist cleaning is charged only against the invoice, and only after you have seen it.
  • Free delivery and collection anywhere on Koh Samui, flight tracked if you are arriving, with every panel, the interior, the fuel gauge and the odometer photographed at handover.
  • Deposit back within three bank days. If there is genuine damage you get both photo sets and an itemised garage invoice before anything is deducted.
  • 24/7 roadside assistance on the island and the mainland, with a replacement car of the same category or better if yours cannot be fixed where it stands.

The long version, including the licence and International Driving Permit requirement, is on the hub: what the rate includes, how the return and deposit refund work and what happens after a breakdown or an accident.
