About the BYD Sealion 7
The BYD Sealion 7 is the largest and by far the most powerful electric vehicle we rent - a dual-motor SUV producing 530 horsepower, which reaches 100 km/h in about 4.5 seconds. It is built on the same 82.5 kWh Blade battery platform as the Seal, wrapped in a considerably bigger and better-appointed body. This is BYD's flagship and it feels like it.

- Minimum rental period is 3 days.
- A refundable security deposit of ฿10,000 covers the insurance excess. It is returned in full if it is not used.
- Delivery and collection anywhere on Koh Samui - your hotel, villa or the airport - are included in the rate.
Any minor damage is deducted from the deposit and the balance returned. We photograph every panel, the interior, the fuel or charge level and the odometer at handover, and you get those timestamped photos with your digital contract - so there is a record to compare against rather than an argument.

What the Sealion 7 actually gives you here is space, quiet, a very good ride and the confidence of a big battery. If you want the flagship, this is it - but the Atto 3 does the same island job for less than half the daily rate.

Honestly, no. The island's roads top out around 80 km/h and are shared with scooters. What you are really paying for is size, refinement and equipment. If those matter, it is a superb car; if you want an electric SUV that does the island job well, the BYD Atto 3 costs less than half as much.
